Winter Tree Identification (A Quiet Heart Free Community Event)

  • Frances Anderson Center Edmonds, WA (map)

While deciduous and herbaceous plants are tucked in for the winter, our attention to plants shifts upwards to all of the large trees that grow around us. Come join us for an evening where we will be focusing our attention on plant forms, seasonal rounds and winter tree identification. We will learn about branching patterns, needle and bud formations, different types of bark and some evergreen plant relationships. In this way, you can discover how to tell our local trees apart and also use them for food, medicine and utilitarian uses. Now there’s a start to winter survival!

This event is part of Quiet Heart’s Free Community Events series.  While the event will be free, there will be an opportunity at the event to donate funds to help compensate the instructor, Rachael, and defray the venue costs.

  • Date and Time: Tuesday, January 14th from 6-8pm

  • Location: Frances Anderson Center, Edmonds, WA
