Weaving with Flax at Duvall Herb Farm

  • Duvall Herb Farm 14929 316th Avenue Northeast Duvall, WA, 98019 United States (map)

From blue flower to seed, from the fields to fiber, flax has so much to offer!

Come join us for an afternoon at the Duvall Herb Farm learning about the wonderful ways of flax… In this workshop, Lindsay will teach about cultivation techniques and the benefits of growing flax in your garden, then Rachael will teach how to harvest and process flax for fiber uses. We will make a simple 7-ply weave to be used as a hat band, wall hanging or basket embellishment. Rachael will demonstrate how to prepare fibers to make flax cordage as well as the retting process that turns flax into linen. Participants will go home with a handmade weaving project, a bouquet of flax fibers, and an understanding of the powers and beauty of flax.

All levels of experience are welcome! Ages 10-12 are welcome to come with an adult.
